Concepts

Concept projects that put our axial flux electric motors to work in real applications, from long-endurance UAVs to a VTOL cargo drone and an in-wheel electric vehicle designed for Mars.

Each concept below applies our axial flux motor technology to a real engineering brief, not a hypothetical one. The long-flight UAV concept explores how a coreless motor, with no iron core, avoids interfering with the thermal camera and video electronics it shares an airframe with. The VTOL cargo drone concept responds to an actual industry design challenge for small-scale autonomous cargo transport. Mars Mobile puts an axial flux motor inside a wheel and asks what changes when the operating environment is a different planet, with its own atmosphere, temperature range and dust conditions.

Reading a concept page is a useful shortcut if you are trying to judge whether our motor technology fits an application similar to yours. Each page covers the specific constraints that drove the design choices, so the reasoning carries over even if your own project looks nothing like a drone or a Mars rover.
